We identify school employees who dream of becoming licensed teachers and prepare them for a teacher apprenticeship program at UNLV. We also mentor hundreds of new teachers through their first three years in the classroom. Together, we are driving potential for people in our community.

Teacher FastTrack addresses the teacher shortage crisis by identifying school employees who dream of becoming licensed teachers and preparing them for a teacher apprenticeship program at UNLV. We also mentor hundreds of new teachers through their first three years in the classroom.

Teacher FastTrack Recruit connects paraprofessionals and long-term guest teachers with experienced teacher mentors and wrap-around supports to ensure they are successful in UNLV’s Nevada Forward™ teacher apprenticeship program, where they will earn a bachelor’s degree and obtain teaching credentials.

Teacher FastTrack Retain supports teachers who recently graduated from the Nevada Forward program by providing a resource-filled website and coaching through their first three years in the classroom, so they successfully remain in the profession.

 

Teacher FastTrack Exchange connects Cultural Exchange Teachers (CETs) with experienced mentors and provides access to tools to improve the effectiveness and retention of these educators so they – and their students – can thrive in the classroom.
