The Latest

On April 26, 2019, The Public Education Foundation opened its gallery doors and hosted the Annual CCSD VOICE Secondary Arts Juried Competition. More than 150 people were in attendance and students were able to showcase their incredible works of art. Prizes were awarded in each category to students placing 1st, 2nd and 3rd. The Public Education Foundation hosts several student art shows in our gallery throughout the year… Because THE ARTS MATTER.

Our mission is to connect the creative energy of the Las Vegas arts community with students in the Clark County School District in order to enrich their educational experience in the arts.

Artists 4 Kidz will provide students with arts experiences, expose them to community artists, and inspire them to find their voice and express themselves while fostering a lifelong engagement in the arts.

Studies* show that young people who participate in the arts are:

  • More likely to be recognized for academic achievement
  • More likely to be elected to class office within their schools
  • More likely to participate in a math and science fair
  • More likely to win an award for school attendance

Now, more than ever, the schools need your support. The Artists 4 Kidz initiative connects the nearly 309,000 students in the Clark County School District, specifically those who do not have significant exposure to the arts, to entertainers and community arts leaders from Las Vegas and around the world.

Who we are

Our Programs

A Tribute to the Arts Concert Series

Artists 4 Kidz, in partnership with Clark County School District and The Smith Center, is proud to present this annual concert series. “A Tribute to the Arts” concert series includes CCSD students, teachers, university professors and professional musicians performing together. This event provides our students an incredible experience to perform with professionals on a world-class stage and gives families an affordable opportunity to enjoy a Smith Center event. Each year we will present concert events featuring student musicians, artists, dancers and thespians from across Southern Nevada.

Boot Camp for the Arts

Artists 4 Kidz, in collaboration with the Clark County School District, UNLV and Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, offers a series of clinics targeting students who aspire to obtain talent-based scholarships. The program, held the first week of December, provides more than 500 students guidance in the scholarship application process and insights for auditions.

Summer Arts Institute

One of the newest programs under Artists 4 Kidz strives to prepare students for a professional production through a series of auditions, rehearsals and workshops to be held each summer. The Institute will prepare students for a Fall performance at The Public Education Foundation’s annual fundraiser.

The Public Education Foundation hosts four art exhibitions each year in it’s art gallery. Paintings, drawings, photographs, sculpture and A4K_gallery
digital images are featured in the gallery and video art is exhibited in adjacent classroom space.

Our gallery curator, Christine Pavesich, digital media teacher at West Career & Technical Academy, engages a team of student interns who are responsible for the gallery shows. They are the ones who mat and frame the work in the gallery.  The interns also create the inventory, artist statements, and name and price tags.  They hang the show, host the show, and take down the show.  This opportunity provides the interns the experience of maintaining a gallery show.

For each exhibit the Foundation hosts a show opening for the artists and their guests. Refreshments are served and invited guests are encouraged to purchase the pieces on exhibit. Proceeds from art sales are divided between the artist, his or her school and the Foundation.
