The Public Education Foundation (PEF) proudly announces that it has awarded $6.9 million in scholarships to support more than 700 high school seniors and current college students in their pursuit of higher education through the Scholarships Plus program.

“This achievement speaks volumes about our community’s commitment to investing in the next generation,” said Peter Guzman, Chairman of the Board for the Public Education Foundation. “These scholarships are a clear message to our students that we believe in their potential and are here to support their journey.”

PEF is the largest scholarship management provider in Nevada, supporting hundreds of students each year as they pursue their college and career goals. In the 2024-2025 scholarship cycle, PEF and its scholarship donors awarded 940 scholarships to 752 high school seniors and college-enrolled students. More than 53% are first-generation college students. More than 80% of PEF scholarship recipients graduate college – far higher than national completion averages.

Many donors increased their giving or the number of scholarships they sponsored, with major support from donors like MGM Resorts International, Penn National Gaming, Inc., the Charles and Phyllis M. Frias Charitable Trust, The Picerne Family Charitable Foundation, the Hospitality Charitable Foundation, and Assistance League® of Las Vegas. Thanks to the generosity of hundreds of community donors, PEF’s Scholarships Plus program has awarded more than $37.3 million in scholarships to nearly 6,500 students in the last decade.

“Before applying for this scholarship, I had a lot of doubts about whether I could even go to college. This is a huge relief to my family and me because we thought we were not going to be able to afford to even send me. Thank you for this scholarship, it is going to help me advance my education and get me a career I am extremely passionate about,”  said Kayli Adams, a Del Sol Academy of the Performing Arts High School graduate and scholarship recipient.

As PEF continues to make a significant impact in the lives of students, the organization remains committed to collaborating with donors, community partners, and educational institutions to ensure every public school student in Clark County can succeed.
