The Las Vegas City Council approved Wednesday allowing parking tickets issued in the month of June to be paid with school supplies.
The city said supplies like writing utensils, paper, scissors, rulers and storage bins taken in by the city will be donated to the Public Education Foundation.
According to the city, those who receive a parking infraction will get 30 days to satisfy their tickets by bringing new, unwrapped school supplies of equal or greater value to their fine to the Parking Services Office.
