The CCSD school year is progressing, about a month into the new year with distance education.

[The Public Education Foundation] is trying to help train parents to become better co-teachers for their kids during this prolonged period of distance education through their program called the ‘Virtual Family Learning Program.’

“It’s largely just to bridge the technology gap, to teach parents about the programs that their students are utilizing, how they can help, how they can track what’s going on. We’ve also added a component about social-emotional learning,” Searer said. “They can be wonderful co-teachers, it’s just kind of getting over that initial reluctance that a lot of parents have.”
