Getting Much-Needed Supplies to Teachers, Students

The Public Education Foundation’s Teacher EXCHANGE® continues to successfully serve teachers in providing essential classroom supplies and enhancing the learning environment for students.

In February, the Teacher EXCHANGE distributed Yoobi classroom packs to 102 elementary schools with at least 75 percent free and reduced lunch student eligibility.

More than 52,000 students and 2,500 teachers are enjoying this donation. Each student received pencils, colored pencils, crayons, markers, 6-inch ruler, glue stick, glue bottle, pencil sharpener, gum eraser, two-pocket folder and a pencil pouch.

Meanwhile, in the past five months, the Teacher EXCHANGE Express has traveled 668 miles, visiting 13 schools to deliver reuse, repurpose and surplus materials and supplies to more than 170 teachers.

The Teacher EXCHANGE Express’ visits included Goodsprings, Indian Springs, Laughlin, Moapa, Overton, Sandy Valley and Searchlight.
