Different Solutions for Different Students

Derrell Bradford is the Executive Director of NYCAN, a nonprofit organization which advocates for the success of every New York student, from pre-K through college and career and seeks to improve policy to help all students thrive.

During his inaugural visit to The Public Education Foundation’s Teacher Leader Academy in January, Bradford offered the historical context of education reform in America before exploring the power of storytelling and the role it plays in leadership and policy making.

Bradford also introduced teacher leaders to the strategies and tactics of advocacy campaigns and, during a break in one of his sessions with teachers, discussed different solutions for different students.
