LAS VEGAS (March 21, 2017) – A Tribute to the Arts Concert Series will present its fourth Pops Concert in The Smith Center’s Reynolds Hall on March 29 at 6:30 p.m. The concert series is a partnership among Clark County School District, The Public Education Foundation and The Smith Center.
The concert, “A Salute to the Pops IV – A Century of Great Music,” is a tribute to legendary conductor Arthur Fiedler and the Boston Pops Orchestra. The considerable talent found in the Clark County School District is showcased, as about 150 musicians – including students, teachers and professionals from across Southern Nevada – will perform in a world-class venue.
In addition, visual artists from elementary, middle and high schools will have their work on display in The Smith Center’s Grand Lobby. Thespians and singers also will perform in Symphony Park outside of The Smith Center prior to the concert.
A limited number of tickets are available, starting at $12. Proceeds from concert ticket sales are used to support arts programs in public schools and the Artists 4 Kidz program, an initiative of The Public Education Foundation.
Since the concert series began in 2012, more than 1,500 students have performed at The Smith Center and nearly $170,000 has been raised for arts programs through this partnership with the Foundation.
The Pops Concert is made possible through funding from Dennis and Carol Troesh, Union Pacific, Macy’s, Nevada Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts.
