Turning Teens into Philanthropists

High school students in We R Community, The Public Education Foundation’s service-learning initiative, this year have awarded 46 grants worth a total of $70,000 to local nonprofit organizations.

Launched in 2008, We R Community teaches high school students about community service, philanthropy and volunteerism by incorporating the program into classroom learning and into students’ daily lives.
